May 1:  Annmarie’s Art Breakfast on Derby Launches Ticket Sales for 21 and OverOrder Now Button

(Event Date: May 1, 2010)—Louisville, KY—The 1st Annmarie’s Art Breakfast on Derby sponsored by Hayden & Craig PLLC (http://www.haydencraig.com/) will benefit Murray State University art students through a special scholarship fund, and Louisville’s emerging artists of Art Sanctuary.  The event will be hosted by the late artist Annmarie Campbell’s mother, Dawn Marie Yankeelov, at Electric Blue at 835 East Main from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM on the morning of the Kentucky Derby.  All those over 21 are invited to this buffet breakfast event that will feature  selected artists as the Derby Morning’s Art Ambassadors exhibiting their works for sale, a silent art auction, reggae, jazz, and rock by the Scott Anthony Trio, and an exhibition of Annmarie Campbell’s work, along with selected arts and crafts, and apparel vendors.  There will be a cash bar, featuring mimosas, bloody marys, and mint juleps.  Rooibee Red Tea, a local, bottled organic ready-to-drink tea in 7 flavors, will be available for purchase and samplings. Buffet catering will be by Mrs. Potter’s Coffee Lounge & Café, including all manner of hot tea and coffee, OJ, egg creations, bacon, seasonal fruits, quiches, salmon, assorted cheeses, muffins, scones, and breads, and decadent desserts, including the pie of the day. Tickets are $25, and can be purchased HERE online or in person at Quest Outdoors,  2330 Frankfort Ave. Quest Outdoors store hours are Monday-Friday 10-8, Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 12-5.

Annmarie Campbell, grew up in Louisville, and  was a passionate artist and Murray State art graduate that understood both the dark and the beautiful sides of weathering life’s journeys.  The intent of her work was to investigate relationships of duality—principally, attraction and repulsion. Campbell devoted much of her time to drawing, printmaking and photography.  She died at age 23 in May 2006, while serving as an artist-in-residence at Fancy That in Paris, Tenn., attacked by an alligator on an outdoor adventure in Ocala, Florida.  Yankeelov, her mother, established a scholarship in her name at Murray State to support art students.  The fund is looking to reach endowment with this event.  Yankeelov also serves on the board of Art Sanctuary, and supports the vision of every artist—to be heard and seen through their work. Proceeds will benefit both missions.

Featured artists will include:  Scott Slusher, photography of the human form; Mary Verrandeaux, horse themed paintings; Lisa Frye, oils and water colors of the dream world; Melissa Flautt, whimsical clay pots; Vian Sora, mystical works from Baghdad, and Jesse Cooley, compiled and found art; as well as other famed artists in other genres.

Art Sanctuary

Art Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non profit founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2004, formed around the humanist principle that “Your Life is Your Art.” As a community arts collective, the Art Sanctuary mission is to provide support for local artists through promotions, events, and education. Art Sanctuary services are made available to all local artists who need a place to exhibit, perform, or create their original artwork, especially those who cannot obtain space to exhibit or perform from traditional sources because of financial or other limitations. http://www.art-sanctuary.org/ Follow Art Sanctuary on Facebook.

MedX12 Integrates Noteworthy Medical Systems Products, including NetPracticeEHRweb™ and NetPracticePM™, into its Software Suite Designed to Take Physician Practices Paperless
Revenue Cycle Management and Related Web Services Fit US President Obama’s Initiatives Regarding Healthcare IT
August 7, 2009—(Louisville, Ky.)—MedX12, a privately-held healthcare software solution provider serving the US, has affiliated with Cleveland-based Noteworthy Medical Systems, Inc. as a Sales and Service Partner to expand the MedX12 software suite of products designed to take physician practices paperless. Key MedX12 web-based products in physician practice management and electronic medical records will now be powered by Noteworthy, including MedX12’s NetPracticePM™ and MedX12’s NetPracticeEHRweb™. NetPracticeEHRweb’s capabilities allow for connections between hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and labs, interfacing within existing systems.
“Given President Obama’s incentives to physician practices to lower healthcare costs and improve patient care through electronic medical records, we expanded our offerings with the highest level of healthcare IT (HCIT) available on the market today,” said Joe Sostarich, CEO of MedX12. To help drive the adoption of electronic health records by 2015, the federal government is investing $33 billion in incentives to providers under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. To gain the maximum amount of incentives, providers must have a qualifying records system in meaningful use by 2011. In addition to incentives, the legislation specifies increasing financial penalties for physician practices that have not adopted certified electronic systems, Sostarich indicated.
Since its launch in 2006, MedX12 has entered product categories that serve to enhance practice performance and patient care through back-end software solutions to the physician practice. “The MedX12 modular approach allows providers to select specific applications to address specific issues, or bundle applications to create a more comprehensive solution. The end-to-end SaaS (software-as-a-service) model minimizes the economic risk to the provider to convert to a new system,” Sostarich pointed out. Additional new product offerings in the suite will include: MedX12’s NetPracticeRESULTS™, a reports and results management tool; MedX12’s NetPracticeERX™, a streamlined prescription solution; and MedX12’s WebPractice secure patient web portal enabling online patient account transactions; as well as MedX12’s NetPracticePM Practice Management Software.
“We are delighted that MedX12 has become a Noteworthy Sales and Service Partner and anticipate exciting growth for both companies,“ said Mark Conner, vice president of channel sales for Noteworthy Medical Systems, Inc. “MedX12’s ability to train on and service this cutting-edge software will make the adoption decision that much easier for their existing local clients and those to come.”
Louisville-based MedX12 is also moving to bring a Connected Care Network, powered by Noteworthy’s NetPractice MedicalHub™, to Kentucky communities and beyond. The core of the solution allows healthcare data providers including hospitals, labs, radiology, pharmacies and more to share, send and receive critical clinical data with providers and patients. The MedicalHub provides an electronic Master Patient Index (EMPI), common clinical vocabulary, community health record, integration engine, security and authorization suite, and provider-to-provider and provider-to-data provider communications.
MedX12 recently moved into new offices at 10200 Forest Green Blvd., Suite LL in Louisville, Ky. A grand opening is planned for late August.

Medx12 Receives Loan and Grant Monies from the state of Kentucky
Healthcare Firms Continue to be an Investment Sweet Spot
(Jan. 23, 2009)–Medx12 has been approved under the Kentucky Jobs Development Act (KJDA) which falls under the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) for $360,000 in tax incentives for up to 10 years, and an additional $160,000 in the form of a forgivable loan from the Kentucky Department of Commercialization and Innovation’s high-tech loan pool. The company additionally applied and received a grant to assist training new staff from the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation. The Bluegrass State Skills Corp. announced $25,000 will go to the Medx12 as a grant-in-aid agreement for new hires–$2,500 for each of 10 new employees and two additional grants of $25,000 each over the next two years contingent upon completion of hiring and training of 20 additional employees. Additionally, MedX12 received $500,000 in private investment which will be used to complete new products and expand sales. . .
In 2009, Medx12 will add patient eligibility verification to its services that assist in taking a physician practice paperless. The company will also unveil services for dental practices, including a patient tracking electronic software for dentists or doctors. This software will insure that treatment prescribed through referrals has been received by the patient.
The company will also invest in additional office space during 2009. Currently the firm is housed in 1,600 square feet of leased space at 9750 Ormsby Station Road, off North Hurstbourne Parkway. It needs another 3,500 square feet in the first quarter and eventually will require 10,000 square feet more than it currently occupies over time.
Medx12’s employment will go from three full-timers to 17. Additionally another 46 employees will be hired over the next three years in customer service, marketing, administration, and bookkeeping, as well as other technical fields.
Medx12 is developing its business in an area discussed as a hot spot for growth in the next year by Credit Suisse in their report, “The ‘New’ New Deal: Use It or Lose It” by Nicole M. Parent and Jamie Cook, CFA. The $20B healthcare information technology (IT) marketplace is growing 9% annually based on several key needs: (1) growth in outpatient services, (2) the drive to reduce medical errors, and (3) the effort to reduce administrative costs. The report indicates that, “IT is being used in healthcare to improve patient care by creating a continuous information flow among the physician’s office, the hospital, and the patient. Credit Suisse suggests that only 15% of physician offices in the US use Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
As President-elect Barack Obama said in his radio address on the economy on Dec. 6th, 2008, “We will make sure every doctor’s office and hospital in the country is using cutting edge technology and electronic medical records so that we can cut red tape, prevent medical mistakes, and help save billions of dollars each year.”
The Chamber of Commerce of Louisville, Ky., Greater Louisville, Inc. and its Enterprise Corp. named Medx12 to its Hot Dozen Companies at its Holiday Showcase. The event, held on Dec. 9th, included displays from the Hot Dozen Companies and dignitaries from around the region, including Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson and GLI CEO Joe Reagan, as well as clients, partners, and friends. The annual reception each year honors the region’s “hottest” companies, and is sponsored by Chilton & Medley, Old National Bank, and O’Callaghan’s Catering.
Other medical-related companies that made the “Hot Dozen” included SCR, Inc., a medical device company committed to heart failure treatment options; Advanced Cancer Therapeutics, a biopharma company dedicated to advancing novel therapeutics for cancer; APOImmune, a biotechnology company that develops therapeutics based on activating or suppressing the immune system to fight disease; CreoSalus, a biotech company that specializes in peptide-based pharmaceutical development and manufacturing; and ImmunoTheragnostics, a life science company focused on the development and commercialization of exosome-based clinical diagnostic arrays for women’s health.
About Medx12
Medx12 is a health care software service provider making physician practices paperless bringing revenue cycle management to a new and higher level. The company enables all health care providers an opportunity to simplify the administrative requirements of their offices and save costs through electronic claims processing, integrating electronic medical records into practice management, and installing billing systems. The Medx12 software as a service (SaaS) model offers off-site printing and mailing of patient statements, and collections from insurance payers as well as clients. An additional purchasing program will enable Medx12 to deliver medical supplies to the providers’ door at lower prices. MedX12’s employees are passionately dedicated to customer service, filling clients’ needs. In the long and short run, this will keep MedX12 growing in years to come. #
